The sun, answer to global warming?

I am almost done with my feature story!  I chose to do it about solar power, and how viable it is and will become.  I interviewed stan pipkin of lighthouse solar.  It was very interesting, and I look forward to editing and finalizing my piece!  I really liked  being able to learn about whatever I wanted.  Solar power facinates me because it seems like such an appealing idea: taking energy directly from the sun, just like plants.  Plus, zero emissions are key to solve the global warming crisis. *cough* fabian *cough*  My interview was very long, however, so I had to spend an entire 3 hours transcribing!  That was annoying, but in truth I liked this project more than most writing projects because I got to talk about something that is interesting to me.  However, I disliked the fact that I could not give my opinion, only the sources.

Also related, a study group of the Paris-headquartered International Academy of Astronautics that was led by John Mankins, a 25-year Nasa veteran and the U.S. space agency's former head of concepts reviewed an outlandish concept: space based solar power stations to collect energy and beam it down to earth in a lazer.  Scientists want to have space stations where they can get the most sun possible: outside our atmosphere.  then, they beam the energy down to earth and we have a free energy supply!
