Alright its time to start this blog off, put your glasses up for a good semester guys
I was surfing around Wired.com early and found this interesting article. Originally I was thinking it was about an actual cloaking field and in a fit of disappointment almost left the article. It turns out the actual topic is pretty interesting. The jist of it is that through a series of layers scientist can prevent a object being detected by a magnetic field but not so that it is possible to tell that is happening.

Its amazing how close we are to cloaking technology but I believe this can be more of a security threat then a help. The article itself mentions this can help shop lifters, but what if it can help people sneak in bombs or guns into places like airports? Imagine that for a second, weapons just passing right under the noses of security. The process doesn't seem hard to recreate and obviously isn't a secret so whats stopping terrorists from exploiting it? This is just another example of technology both endangering and bettering our lives.
